- சென்னையில் பெருகி வரும் குற்றச்செயல்களை தடுக்க, மாநகரகாவல் துறை பல்வேறு நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுத்து வருகிறது. அதன் ஒருபகுதியாக சிறுவர்களை நல்வழிப்படுத்துவதற்கான புதிய திட்டத்தை தொடங்க கடந்தாண்டு சென்னைகாவல் துறை முடிவெடுத்தது.
- இதன்படி, சிறார் குற்றச்செயல்களுக்கு தீர்வு காணவும், பாதிக்கப்படும் சிறுவர்களை கண்டறிந்து அவர்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டவும் சென்னையில், ‘சிற்பி’ என்ற திட்டத்தை அறிமுகம் செய்ய காவல் துறைநடவடிக்கை எடுத்தது.
- குறிப்பாக, சென்னையில் 100 மாநகராட்சி பள்ளிகளில் தலா 50 மாணவர்களைக் கொண்டு இந்த சிற்பி திட்டத்தை சென்னை மாநகர காவல் துறை செயல்படுத்துகிறது.
- சிற்பி’ என்றாலும் அது குறிக்கும் ஆங்கில விரிவாக்கம் வேறு. அதாவது Students in Responsible Police Initiatives என்பதன் சுருக்கம்தான் Sirpi.
- இத்திட்டப்படி, 8-ம் வகுப்பு முதல் உள்ள மாணவர்களை தேர்வுசெய்து, அவர்களுக்கு தனி சீருடைவழங்கப்பட உள்ளது. பள்ளிகளில் தேசிய மாணவர் படை (என்சிசி) போன்று இத்திட்டத்தை நடைமுறைப்படுத்த காவல் துறை திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.

- To prevent the increasing crime in Chennai, the Municipal Police Department is taking various measures.
- As part of this, the Chennai Police Department decided last year to launch a new program for the betterment of children.
- Accordingly, the Police Department has taken steps to introduce a program called ‘Sirpi’ in Chennai to tackle juvenile delinquency and identify and guide vulnerable children.
- Specifically, the Chennai Metropolitan Police Department is implementing this sculpture program with 50 students each in 100 municipal schools in Chennai.
- Sirpi though the English expansion of what it means is different. Sirpi stands for Students in Responsible Police Initiatives.
- According to this scheme, students from class 8 onwards will be selected and given a separate uniform. The police department is planning to implement the program like the National Student Corps (NCC) in schools.
- Also, the program includes taking students on tours, taking them to reputed educational institutes to enhance their skills, and imparting legal literacy in collaboration with government and non-government organizations to make them socially responsible.
- Apart from this, the program has also provided information to the students about emergency numbers including police control room emergency number, Kavalan app, elderly helpline, police arms and also to create awareness among them.
- Also, it is planned to provide appropriate training to the school children in order to obtain information about the measures taken by the government to prevent the movement of drugs.

- கடந்தாண்டு இறுதி வரையில் 2.8 கோடி மக்கள், தங்களுக்கு விருப்பம் இல்லாத வேலையில் கட்டாயப்படுத்தி ஈடுபடுத்தப்பட்டு உள்ளனர். 2.2 கோடி மக்கள் கட்டாய திருமணம் செய்து வாழ்கின்றனர்.
- நவீன அடிமைத்தனமாக கருதப்படும் இதில், உலகம் முழுவதும் 5 கோடி மக்கள் பாதித்துள்ளனர். வரும் 2030க்குள் இதுபோன்ற அனைத்து விதமான நவீன அடிமைத்தனத்தையும் ஒழிப்பதற்கான முக்கிய முடிவுகளை ஐநா எடுக்கும்.
- கடந்த 2016ம் ஆண்டுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில், கடந்தாண்டு மட்டுமே நவீன அடிமைத்தனத்தின் எண்ணிக்கை 93 லட்சம் அதிகமாகி இருக்கிறது. குறிப்பாக, கொரோனா பரவல் காலக்கட்டம், பருவநிலை மாற்றம், புவிசார் அரசியல் மோதல்கள் காரணமாக இந்த எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
- இவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானோர் பெண்கள், குழந்தைகள். இவர்களில் 50 சதவீதம் பேர், வணிகரீதியான பாலியல் துன்புறுத்தலுக்கு ஆளாகி இருக்கின்றனர்.

- Considered as modern slavery, it affects 50 million people worldwide. The UN will take key decisions to end all forms of modern slavery by 2030.
- Compared to last year 2016, the number of modern slavery has increased by 93 lakhs last year alone.
- In particular, this number has increased due to the period of corona spread, climate change and geopolitical conflicts. Most of them are women and children. 50 percent of them are victims of commercial sexual harassment.

- கிட்டதட்ட 191 நாடுகளின் மனித வளர்ச்சி குறியீடு குறித்து எடுக்கப்பட்ட ஆய்வில், இந்தியாவின் மனித வளர்ச்சி குறியீடு 130வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.
- மனித வளர்ச்சிக் குறியீட்டில் முதல் மூன்று இடங்களில் சுவிட்சர்லாந்து, நார்வே, ஐஸ்லாந்து ஆகிய நாடுகள் உள்ளன. நடுத்தர மனித வளர்ச்சி அடைந்த 43 நாடுகளில் இந்தியாவும் ஒன்றாக உள்ளது.
- கடந்த 2020ம் ஆண்டு எடுக்கப்பட்ட ஆய்வின்படி இந்தியாவின் மனித வளர்ச்சிக் குறியீட்டில் 189 நாடுகளில் 131வது இடத்தைப் பிடித்தது. அதாவது இந்தியாவின் மனித வளர்ச்சிக் குறியீடு 2020ல் 0.62 ஆக இருந்தது.
- அதே 2021ல் 0.633 ஆகக் குறைந்துள்ளது. கடந்த 1990ம் ஆண்டு முதல் 129வது இடத்தில் இருந்த இந்தியா, ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் கீழே இறங்கி வருகிறது. ஆனால் இந்தியர்களின் ஆயுட்காலம் 69.7ல் இருந்து 67.2 ஆக அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
- இந்தப் பட்டியலில், இந்தியாவின் அண்டை நாடுகளான இலங்கை 73வது இடத்திலும், சீனா 79வது இடத்திலும், பாகிஸ்தான் 161வது இடத்திலும், வங்கதேசம் 129வது இடத்திலும், பூடான் 127வது இடத்திலும், நேபாளம் 143வது இடத்திலும், மியான்மர் – 149வது இடத்திலும் உள்ளன.

- Overall development of a country can be known on the basis of Human Development Index. India’s Human Development Index ranks 130th in the Human Development Index of nearly 191 countries.
- The top three countries in the Human Development Index are Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. India is one of the 43 countries with medium human development.
- According to the 2020 study, India ranked 131 out of 189 countries in the Human Development Index. That means India’s Human Development Index in 2020 was 0.62.
- In the same year 2021 it decreased to 0.633. India, which was ranked 129th since 1990, has been slipping down every year. But the life expectancy of Indians has increased from 69.7 to 67.2.
- In this list, India’s neighbors Sri Lanka at 73rd position, China at 79th position, Pakistan at 161st position, Bangladesh at 129th position, Bhutan at 127th position, Nepal at 143rd position and Myanmar at 149th position.

Apart from the 10th standard score, NTSE National Aptitude Test, NMMS National Merit Test, sports and arts have also been decided as eligibility criteria for admission to model schools.
- And in the best institutes of higher education, trainings will be provided on the basis of entrance examination in model schools to ensure the opportunity to study together in science, technology, engineering, arts and medicine in professional education.
- Accordingly, 15 government schools in the districts of Chennai, Madurai, Tirupattur, Nilgiris, Tiruvarur, Sivagangai, Erode, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Thiruvallur, Vellore, Nagapattinam and Iranipet will be started as model schools this academic year.
- Also, admission to model schools will be done following the government’s seat reservation policy and based on the overall performance of the students. In the coming years, the number of model schools will be increased in the district on a model school basis.
